Integrating panel data into a data lake system

One of the largest food manufacturers wanted to use panel data from different agencies and countries to gain a comprehensive view of their market performance and consumer behavior. They were facing challenges with the integration of panel data into their data lake system. Panel data cannot be processed in a raw format and requires customized solutions for handling hierarchies, masking rules, non-additive metrics and so forth.

 

Redslim was the right partner for this project. Our teams helped the manufacturer to collect, enrich, and format the panel data, and make it available for ingestion to the data lake. We also cooperated with the client-chosen data lake partner to ensure the proper structure and usability of the data for visualizations.

 

As a result, the manufacturer was able to leverage their data lake system and access harmonized and enriched panel data from 48 databases and 20 countries, with both panel and EPOS data. They were able to perform advanced analysis and gain insights into their market share, distribution, pricing, and promotion strategies.
